Child Support Lawyers
CHILD SUPPORT is the monetary amount supplied by the non-custodial
parent to the primary caretaker of child. CHILD SUPPORT is typically
sought after a divorce or when a child is born to two people that
are not intending to raise the child together. Under the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services there is an Office for Child Support
Enforcement that has a Child Support Enforcement Program [CSE].
This program is a federal/state/local partnership that works to
collect child support. In addition, the Child Support Enforcement
Act was created under Title 42 of the United States Code. This act
works to enforce support to all children by locating non-custodial
parents, providing paternity tests, obtaining support and assuring
that support will continue to be available from the federal government
even if a non-custodial parent is unable to provide assistance.
